Roof Cleaning, House Wash, and Patio Cleaning in Marietta, GA

Marietta, GA

What we found and what we did

Cleaned the roof, washed the exterior, and cleared out the patio and enclosed porch on a 2,400–3,500 sq ft home in Marietta, GA. The job ran about 2.5 hours and covered a lot of ground, so here's a breakdown of each piece.

Roof. The asphalt-shingle roof had a significant buildup of branches, leaf debris, and organic material sitting in the valleys and along the ridge line. Valley debris is worth taking seriously: when wet leaves and sticks pack into a valley, they hold moisture against the shingles and accelerate granule breakdown over time. We cleared the debris by hand and with low-pressure air before washing down the surface. The before-and-after on the valleys was dramatic — the ridge and valley lines went from packed brown debris to clean shingle.

House wash and soffits. The vinyl siding and soffits had the mildew streaking you'd expect on a home with mature tree coverage. A few soffit bays had active wasp nests that we removed before the wash. The enclosed porch got the same treatment: siding, screens, and soffit ceiling all cleaned down. Gutters and downspouts were cleared as part of the exterior pass. We used a soft-wash approach on the siding to keep pressure off the soffit material and window seals.

Patio and outdoor kitchen. The brick patio had a layer of debris and general grime from being under the tree canopy. Patio furniture and an outdoor kitchen counter were also cleaned as part of this visit. Both the furniture and the counter surface came out well — the before shots showed a season's worth of pollen and organic buildup, and the after shots are clean enough to use without a wipe-down.

For Marietta homes under heavy tree cover, this kind of multi-surface visit once a year keeps the roof valleys clear, the soffits from developing permanent mildew staining, and the outdoor living space actually usable.
