Pool deck and sidewalk washing for an HOA in Canton, GA
Canton, GA

What we found and what we did
Pressure-washed a pool deck and an attached concrete patio and sidewalk at a HOA in Canton, GA. The job ran about 3.5 hours on site, covering the pool surround and the connected flatwork in a single visit.
Pool decks pick up a specific mix of grime that regular concrete doesn't: sunscreen residue, algae from splash-out, and calcium scale from pool water that creeps onto the deck surface over time. We worked the pool surround with a surface cleaner to pull the algae and residue without blasting the surface unevenly. Any time you're cleaning near a pool, you're mindful of keeping rinse water from carrying detergent back into the water, so we kept the chemistry conservative and rinsed away from the pool edge.
The attached patio and sidewalk concrete got the same surface-cleaner pass. Flat concrete that sits adjacent to a pool tends to stay damp longer than a driveway or front walk, which means biological growth, that grey-green film, works into the pores faster. Two overlapping passes with the surface cleaner brought the flatwork back to a consistent color.
Finishing rinse on both surfaces with a 25-degree tip along the control joints and expansion seams to clear anything the rotary head left behind. The Canton, GA climate runs humid enough through the warmer months that untreated concrete around a pool can re-green within a season, so we mentioned to the property management team that a penetrating sealer would help extend time between cleanings.
